How to Increase Website Traffic
A major part of all websites is the ability to gain traffic. For most websites traffic is the life blood of your site and for many it’s the only way to generate money through your site (Adsense, for example).
When I take on the task of doing an SEO evaluation for your site I look for some of these points:
1. Is Google Analytics installed?
2. Google Webmaster tools verified?
3. Sitemap – xml/gz.xml
4. I then take some specific keywords and determine where in fact you are ranking for those specific keywords, if at all.
5. Using keyword data I will look at what keywords are being searched for for your industry (specific to Ireland) and then determine where your site ranks for those keywords.
6. I will take a look at your title tags, descriptions, headers and other html code inside your pages to determine why your site may not be ranking well in Google.
7. I will investigate your link structure to help determine whether you can obtain some more “footprint” in the Google search results.
8. I will generate a list of authority sites that may be useful for you to link to from your links page, with a view to them linking back to you.
9. I will generate a report detailing the number of pages your site has indexed in the major search engines.
10. I will offer advice and guidance on further avenues you can take to help increase your website footprint on organic search results. This is a great way to help dominate the above the fold results for your products and services.
11. I won’t just tell you what you need to do, I will show you with easy to follow videos you can download and watch
Just so you know it is not a completely automated report. I use tools to help me with my reporting, but they are just that, tools. SEO requires understanding and skill which software just cannot do.
