There was a time not too long ago where I kept correcting my mum about internet addresses; she’d always say “ww.” instead of “www.”
This went on for a while until I thought about it – hey why can’t my mum say ww. instead of www.? It sure makes it easier for her to say, doesn’t it?
So from that thought I wondered – what would happen if she’d actually typed that in? Yep – she probably ended up at a similar page to this picture:

Address Not Found error page
There’s nothing worse than seeing that page coming up on your own site now is there?
Rather than try to change my mum, I will change the INTERNET. In life we have to suit things so why not let the internet suit my mum?
What you need to do are two things.
1. Create a subdomain in your admin control panel called ww
2. Create a 301 redirect to point that domain to the proper www. page.
Real simple, huh? That’s because it is and it’s so often overlooked yet it can save you losing out on visitors.
I use blacknight as my web host, and when I create a ww. subdomain it automatically creates the proper redirect for me, but you may need to do this yourself.
Here’s a list of some sites that may help you achieve the 301 redirect:
